INTERLINK Students excel in YU’s Eco Challenge

Al Yamamah University Eco Challenge
December 10, 2015
Reported by Nebila Dhieb, General Director of INTERLINK at Al Yamamah

Under the auspices of the Al Yamamah College of Business, YU/INTERLINK students on the INTERLINK women’s campus worked together to promote recycling in Saudi Arabia. They created unique items by recycling ordinary products and materials and gave presentations on how to promote environment-friendly practices. Items included a fashion line consisting of recycled dresses, shoes, bags, and decor/furniture items. The day’s highlight was the unveiling of a huge mosaic built in the open area of the campus. The students used hundred of thousands of plastic and glass bottles, soda cans, colored plastic tins, and other recyclables to create the KSA and YU logos. The students have applied to be entered in the Guinness World Book of Records for the “Largest Mosaic made from Recycled Materials.” INTERLINK will be sure to update the community if they succeed in being listed.
