TOEFL Waiver

Apply now to INTERLINK and the admission staff will assist you with applying for Conditional Admission at the partner university of your choice.

U.S. colleges and universities require international students to be proficient in English prior to enrolling in regular academic courses. They generally rely upon a student’s score on a standardized test, most often the TOEFL examination or IELTS, in order to determine an applicant’s English language proficiency. However, in most cases, academically qualified students applying to an ACU member institution may be exempted from taking these tests if they enroll in and successfully complete the highest level of the INTERLINK program.

Academically qualified students planning to study at INTERLINK may be admitted conditionally to a select group of universities. Upon meeting the conditions as specified in the university’s conditional admission letter, a student will be admitted as a regular student. Some universities require that students submit application forms, official transcripts from previous study, documentation on finances, and perhaps letters of recommendation while others only need to review official transcripts to decide on conditional admissibility of students. In all cases, one of the conditions will be to achieve a certain TOEFL score or complete the INTERLINK program successfully. Assistance in applying to universities is available free of charge to all INTERLINK students.

International students who have received a TOEFL score of 550 (213 computer score) or IELTS score of 6.5 or better are not required to enroll in the INTERLINK program. However, all international students are strongly encouraged to enroll at INTERLINK or some other English for Academic Preparation program for 5-9 weeks in order to be well prepared for the challenges of academic and social life in the U.S.
