Part-time ESL Instructor Position

The INTERLINK International Institute, an intensive English program based at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is currently seeking a part-time ESL instructor. The position begins immediately.

Program Description: The program provides international students with language support, cultural orientation, and academic preparation, as well as help with university placement and conditional admission. Features include small class sizes, a project-based curriculum, experiential-learning activities, and access to university facilities and courses. Responsibilities: The part-time ESL instructor is expected to teach one class.  Instructional time is 10 hours per week. Additionally, instructors are expected to keep office hours and participate in weekly faculty meetings. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Genuine commitment to students, teaching, and the profession
  • Master’s degree in TESOL or applied linguistics
  • At least one year of relevant teaching experience
  • Strong interest in cross-cultural training
  • Familiarity with innovative approaches to language teaching

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Overseas teaching experience, participation in the Peace Corps, and/or fluency in a second language are highly desired. 

Compensation: The part-time hourly rate is commensurate with experience but will range between $32 – $38 per hour.
